Interview 2 - Soaps

These interviews were conducted by Ace reporter Martin Bashir, who did interviews with Diana Princess Of Wales, and the Famous Michael Jackson interview. In this interview Scott talks about his love of Soaps. This interview includes Exclusive conversations we conducted when the cameras stopped rolling. See it is the real Martin Bashir.

Martin Bashir:So Scott, you are a big Soap Opera fan, would you care to inform your fans what soaps you enjoy watching?
Scott Newman:I'm a total Neighbours addict. I watch Coronation Street and Eastenders quite a lot too. My family watch Emmerdale, but I don't tend to catch it as much.
MB:Are you not a big fan of Emmerdale? Or is it purely due to your busy schedule
SN:I like some of the characters - Cain Dingle especially, but the storylines are appalling.
MB:Perhaps that is just how life is like in the Dales
SN:Maybe so, my Grandad lives up there, and there's a lot of morons...
MB:Haha!
MB:You have to admit some of the other soaps do have outlandish storylines
MB:Which would you say has been your favourite storyline in each of your favourite soaps?
SN:Hmm...Neighbours is Taj/Jack/Lori/Nina, obviously...had me marking out for like, 6 months, and before that I was a mark for Connor/Nina/Michelle too. Eastenders would be Grant and Phil Mitchell Fight The Drug Dealers, but recently it was Phil saving Kate from the thug. Coronation Street is obvious - Richard FUCKING Hillman.
MB:Absolutely, he came to my home town, there were HUGE crowds
SN:You lucky fucker
SN:NINA SINGING ON NEIGHBOURS NOW~!
MB:I didn't see the fuss, as I was trying to get through the crowds at the time
SN:Taj owns
MB:----pause intereview----
SN:Sorry
SN:But this episode owns
MB:don't worry
SN:Man, I'm marking out
SN:Like last time Nina sang live on the show
MB:nice song
MB:ha "You Wish" I say that to people all the time
SN:Marking out TOTALLY
MB:bet the crowd has started to listen
SN:Wish I'd taped thi sfucker
MB:NO NEIGHBOURS FOR AFEW WEEKS!!!!!
SN:I wanna cry and hug Michelle too!
SN:<<<< close to tears, lump-in-throat job
MB: that song fits perfectly
MB:I wanna hug lyn
MB:poor woman
SN:Connor's crying too!
SN:What song was that?
MB: I'm not crying... honestly
MB:dunno
SN:I need to know!
MB:look on Kazaa
SN:looking on the Neighbours site
SN:Shit mna
SN:look at the hair
SN:
MB:I like that hair
SN:In My Own Time by Delta Goodrem
MB:that song would bring a tear to a glass eye
MB:you want to continue with the interview? lol
SN:Yeh
MB:-----CONTINUE----
MB:So could you explain to us why you enjoy watching Soaps?
SN:Eh, I'm a mark for the storylines and stuff
SN:Total mark
MB:do you find that torylines are too "out there"? Or are they down to earth?
MB:*storylines
SN:Some of them are 'out there', I don't care....they're all about escapism man.
MB:So do you like a good blend of the two in a show?
SN:Pretty much, yeah.
MB:who are your all time favourite soap characters
SN:Taj Coppin, duh, Grant Mitchell, Nina Tucker...umm...Joe Scully, Cain Dingle, Vicky Fowler
MB:So quite afew from Neighbours
MB:would you say you prefer Neighbours over every other Soap?
SN:Hell yeah.
MB:Could you explain what it is that makes Neighbours appeal to you?
SN:Nah, I don't have a clue honestly.
MB: haha
MB:Do you talk to your friends about soaps, ie// are they "Soap-aholics?"
SN:Some of the guys at college are into Neighbours. My friend Jay loves Coronation Street and Eastenders, so we talk about that a lot, yeh.
MB:Do other people mock you for watching Soaps?
SN:Nah, and if they do, fuck em! It's my choice.
MB:If you could have your own Soap Opera what would your "angles" be like? Could you possibly explain them to us.
SN:Hmm.....realistic angles, like Steph and Max was, and Nina/Taj/Jack/Lori, stuff like that.
MB:ok
MB:So some true love prevails type angles?
SN:Yeah, definitely, I'm a sucker for true love
MB:So you like a good romance them.... which romance recently would you say has been the greates?
MB:*greatest
SN:Definitely Steph and Max. Nina and Jack was low, cos they cheated on their partners. Kate and Phil was good in Eastenders. Umm, Kat and Alfie too.
MB:At the other end of the spectrum, good exits? Which would you say you enjoyed the most?
SN:Michelle just then was a total markout, nearly had me crying...Grant Mitchell back in 1999 was absolutely dope. Erm, Angie Reynolds in Emmerdale was good.
SN:Almost forgot Richard Hillman there too!
MB:Just to point out to the readers SCOTT DID CRY
MB:I have it in writing
SN:Okay, I did, no denying it
MB:That's good... newmanfans.4mg.com... getting ALL the scoops
SN:I'm downloading Delta's album now, fuck it
MB:haha...
SN:It'll make me cry
MB:is it any good? Better than when she sings on TV?
SN:I like crying, as it goes
SN:Nah, nothing beats that rush
MB:I think having a good cry is important
MB: you know everyone has a sensitive side
SN:Delta's going in at #1 this week with her new single hopefully.
MB:and beat off the Fast Food Rockers?
SN:I bloody hope os
SN:Fuck em
SN:Delta's the real deal
MB:yeah, there was an article in "The Sunday Post" this past Sunday about her
SN:Holy shit
SN:I'm reading the review of her album on Amazon
SN:12) A Year Ago Today : 3rd Best, coming up on Neighbours when Connor Leaves!!!!!!! 9.5/10
SN:Connor CAN'T GO
MB:sorry, I didn't understand any of that
SN:Look, someone's reviewing it track by track
SN:And that was the review for 'A Year Ago Today'
MB:oh, sorry
MB:So Scott to finish up this 2nd interview, do you have anything to say to your fans about Soap Operas
SN:Yeah, watch Neighbours, or die.
MB:ok Thank you...
